It seems fitting that I woke up and read the Bible first thing this morning. 9/11 is after all, the anniversary of one of the greatest tragedies in American history. Yes, I remember well where I was, including the deep, agonizing fear over sending my kids to school, not only for a day, but for the weeks of uncertainty that followed.
Of course, that’s not the reason I ended up reading my Bible first thing, before I was even out of bed this morning. The real reason is because it was so readily available after I checked the time on my phone. You can read about my recent switch to modern technology on my Writing Tips blog, where I shared the news of upgrading to a phone that might actually be a little bit smarter than me these days.
Yesterday, I started searching for Catholic apps – free Catholic apps, to be exact, and I found way more than I ever would have expected. I downloaded many of them, everything from Bibles and Bible study, to sermons, saints, catholic trivia games and MP3 Catholic Courses. I even downloaded a free Catholic encyclopedia.
One particular app that truly intrigues me is all about Mary. It’s amazing how much information this app shares right on my phone. Another really fun one is Bible Quiz. There are a few still waiting to be explored, just waiting for me to find the time, right there on my phone.
If you have a smart phone, I highly recommend searching for and adding Catholic apps to it. From my limited experience, I can say with confidence, some of these apps are extremely well made, very informative and lots of fun.
Can’t thank you enough for stopping in for a visit.
